ONWARD and UPWARD is an Original painting  from  a series of acrylic highly textured palette knife paintings.  It is 40 x 30.  I am very excited to be able to offer it as one of the first prints from that series on multiple different surfaces to choose from  to have it printed  and in different sizes.  That said  the in-person texture of an original painting like this is really cool!

About the painting:  When creating the original painting,  I was thinking of people and how different yet, sometimes similar we all can be - each with our own unique 'color' of personality, skills, beliefs, and mindsets - like the individual palette knife marks on the painting.

I was thinking how some people are brave enough to move out of their 'comfort zone' - to continue ONWARD and  continually seeking to move UPWARD.... ‘ Better Every Day’. 

Some people will separate  themselves from others - some go faster, others more slowly - some will move through life together - some will lead the way - while still others will stay put - some rising higher and blasting off – others may fall for a bit. 

All on the journey - 'ONWARD and UPWARD'--- which could mean many different things to each of us.  

To add to my original thoughts while painting this image, as I write this now we are months and months into the Covid virus distancing and lockdown with so much extra challenge and hardship on individuals.  I have certainly had a 'Covid Reflection' with regard to this image as so many are finding themselves with new challenges to meet. 

With health and luck most of us will go ONWARD and many will be seeking through this time a 'reinvention' of themselves with the intention to move ONWARD and then UPWARD. During this same period I painted one more image I titled 'ONWARD' for similar reasons.... who could have guessed how timely those sentiments would be at this time.
