Bluebird of Happiness – Landed is an original oil painting on canvas size 10 x 16.    It is gallery wrapped  -  painted on all sides,  wired and ready to hang or to finish further with a frame.  This painting also has a companion piece of the same size:  "Bluebird of Happiness – Landing”.  

About the painting: This painting is beautiful with the companion piece of same size - "Bluebird of Happiness - Landed" -as seen in one of the photographs. 

These images were inspired by my background in Chinese Brush Painting as well as loving the idea of bringing people happiness in some way through my art.  Well, here it is…the Bluebird of Happiness – very close and arriving…. about to land!  And then…. The Bluebird of Happiness - Landed and arrived.

In Chinese Brush Painting there are the loose watercolor washes, but there is also a more detailed ‘school’ or style often having outlining around edges of things defining the shapes even more which is what I have done in these paintings.  The gold background in these paintings is created using a number of gorgeous golden metallic oil paints.

With these paintings I had fun thinking about a concept, which I love, of The Bluebird of Happiness.  The concept of wanting or waiting in anticipation for it to arrive and the excited, happy  and perhaps grateful appreciation when that Happiness Bluebird lands… or arrives!

A little more… for those who don’t know my full ‘evolution’ as an artist, I actually began painting to add painted details onto Stained Glass windows!  When I wanted to learn more about painting, at that time I had a keen interest in Chinese collectibles and was familiar with Chinese Brush Painting and the unique way the master’s I had seen painting  held the paint brush. 

I had been so impressed by the control they had over the brush that I decided I would study Chinese Brush Painting which I did with a renowned master of sorts who taught courses at the University of San Diego- near where I lived.

When I first began showing my work in galleries, before becoming a mom and with more work hours available to me in the day, I showed my, by then -  fused glass,  Chinese Brush Paintings and Oil Paintings!

The original paintings were inspired by my background in Chinese Brush Painting which I studied when I first wanted to learn to paint.   I also love the idea of being able to bring people a bit of happiness in some way through my art.  The concept of the Bluebird of Happiness – either very close and  near to landing and having actually  landed… representing that Happiness has ARRIVED is a concept I enjoy putting out there.
